Garage floors have become a popular home improvement project in recent years. They bring comfort, protection, and beauty to an otherwise cold, harsh environment. The two most common floor styles are rolled (also known as rubber garage floors) and garage floor tile (with various styles, including hard and soft).

Hard garage tiles are perforated to allow water and spills to drain under them, or solid to hold spills above the tile. They normally have a mechanism for snapping them together and keeping them in place. Plastic tiles come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with varying degrees of consistency. Always be aware of the type of flooring you’re purchasing, as price isn’t nearly as critical as quality when it comes to plastic garage tiles. Under heavy loads, cheap garage floor tiles will warp and break.

Soft tiles are usually made of PVC and come in a peel and stick format. BLT or Better Life Technology’s common rubber garage floor tiles have a 95 mil base thickness and a peel and stick backing that makes installation a breeze. Midnight Black, Absolute White, and Slate Grey are the three colors available in BLT garage tiles. In both a 12″ and 24″ tile, they come in levant and diamond tread patterns.

Rolled garage floors or rubber garage floors are the least expensive and simplest to build. The seams are either overlapped or butted together on these floors, which are literally rolled out. There are apparent tapes and floor adhesives available if you want to secure a rolled rubber garage floor, but they are not needed. Rolled floors come in a variety of widths and lengths, ranging from 7.5 to 10 feet. If you can’t find the right size of roll for your garage, custom lengths are also available. Diamond tread, levant, coin, and ribbed garage floors are among the four patterns available. There are six different colors and thicknesses available, ranging from 55 mil to 85 mil.
